Graduates earn 4,998 degrees, certificates from the College of Southern Nevada


About 26.9 percent of the 4,998 degrees and certificates handed out by the College of Southern Nevada in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Vegas conferred 993 certificates and 327 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide. Data shows the school gave out 512 certificates in nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide, followed by 510 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies and 422 associate's degrees in "other" science technologies/technicians.

The college enrolled 33,914 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
