Median-sized businesses in Elko County zip codes in 2016 have between five and nine employees, according to County Business Patterns (CBP) statistics provided by the United States Census Bureau.

There were 1,108 total businesses in the county zip codes, with 164 retail trade businesses (14.8%) accounting for the largest proportion of these businesses. 534 businesses (48.2%) had fewer than five employees, and 15 (1.4%) had 250 or more.
