Mark R. Weaver, author and founder of Communications Counsel, was recently honored with an Honorable Mention award for his book, "A Wordsmith’s Work," in the non-fiction writing/publishing category at the end of 2022. This prestigious award is only given to five books each year nationally and signifies the accomplishment of an impressive feat.

The judge's review noted how the book is an invaluable guide for persuasive writing and has been a success with readers since its release.

“Every chapter provides meaningful tips on how you can sharpen your writing skills, particularly in the business and media sector,” the Reader’s Favorite review noted. “With its solid tips and no-nonsense delivery, it is a book worth visiting regularly.”

A new edition of "A Wordsmith’s Work" is now available for aspiring writers, offering clear and detailed guidance on how to improve their craft. The fourth edition provides practical advice on writing generally, as well as industry-specific tips in crisis communications for those in law enforcement, restaurant management, higher education and health care.

The book grants insight on how to create compelling opinion columns with precision and clarity of thought. Weaver himself has been published in many major outlets like USA Today, Washington Post and Newsweek. The latest edition includes particular advice for writers aiming to write for these publications or similar ones.

U.S. Congressman Brad Wenstrup also reviewed the book.

"This collection of Mark Weaver's work shows his innate ability to capture the art of messaging," he said. "By combining logic, facts and often humor, Mark hits home with his audience."

Weaver said he's grateful to receive recognition from Reader’s Favorite.

“Over the past 30-plus years of my career, I’ve worked hard to hone my writing – for myself and for my clients," Weaver said. "'A Wordsmith’s Work' takes all I’ve learned and written over the year and puts it together into an easy-to-reference guide.”

"A Wordsmith’s Work" is available on Amazon and awordsmithswork.com. The full review from Reader’s Favorite can be read here.
